Adaptive Brain Lab

Onur Ozyurt is an MRI physicist working at the Adaptive Brain Lab with Prof Kourtzi and at the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre with Prof Guy Williams. His research focus includes pulse sequence programming and software development for advanced MRI.

Onur has developed MR pulse sequences for 3T and 7T using the Siemens IDEA platform. As part of his Ph.D. at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Bogazici University  he implemented a 4D ASL sequence for dynamic MR angiography. This was used to examine human brain Arteriovenous Malformations (AVMs) in a clinical setup. His B.Sc. degree in Physics was awarded by Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey and Master’s degree by Bogazici University.  He was awarded a Helmholtz scholarship to work as researcher in DKFZ (German Cancer Research Center), Heidelberg, Germany.

He founded a startup company in 2010, Telemed Solutions, which develops dedicated hardware and software for advanced MR imaging applications. Over the years, the Telemed products are mainly supplied to MR vendors (Siemens, Philips, GE) worldwide. Beside his research activities, he is interested in investing in new startup companies and SME's.
